If you're not feeling Mimi these days I'm not sure what's up with you, might need to see an audiologist. Ever since she and Jay did that Shake if Off remix with Jeezy I've been plugged.
The Bye Bye remix isn't great but it's worth hearing Jay do his thing to open the track.
"How many y'all really down with this movement? How many y'all wonderin' where the groove went? How many y'all get excited for new shit?"
I wanted to have a strong listen before making a recommendation on this one but I shouldn't have waited. This album reminded me of what I love about what I consider real hip hop. Ever since I rediscovered Ace on that Nostalgia joint, I've got RSS dedicated to hi… Continue

You should listen even if only out of respect for a true pioneer in this game... Tip's new album "The Renaissance" will drop soon, though I'm not saying you have to buy it - I won't be. This joint Fever is a Dilla track.

Pete Rock is preparing for the release of his new album, NY’s Finest,
on February 26th via Nature Sounds records with appearances by
Wu-Tang’s Raekwon and Masta Killa, Papoose, Little Brother, and Redman.
A special iTunes version of the album will also contain a bonus track
with Slum Village.
I've moved all the music over to my page to free up the main page player. This will allow me to keep only the hottest tracks in the FB player since it only plays the most recent songs until the good folks at Ning come up with a better strategy.
Props to Ben for this find. AllHipHop.com put together a list of the top 20 dopesest verses of all time. Must-have must-haves. I'm not looking to argue with you about this. Here's the music, decide for yourself...
Yep, it's official. The DO/J-Mass Music Player is now an official application on Facebook. Search for Hip Hop when you browse for applications. I'm way down at the bottom...
I know this dude's on some other internets shit but he really needs to start professing how he finds what he finds and where and how and all that... Share the love my man! He must be plugged into that Internet2 or something.
Check this new Biggie joint on the original Dilla beat (also in the player). If you don't know Oh Word! you need to get on that… Continue

Hip hop album sales are down, but rap culture still sells. Your boy Shawn tops the list of cash-getting rap moguls. 50 and the other Sean round out the top 3...
I love this album. Plenty Wu, some Big Pun, O.C., Prodigy. Plus PR beats bang. Sorry but I had to cut the intro (just shout-outs) in order to be under the 100MB max on ZShare.
Wise Intelligent (if you remember Poor Righteous Teachers back in the day) will convince you to stop whining about 50 Cent and the whole notion of "commercial" vs "real" hip hop. You Ain't Hip Hop delves into the genre's past and present icons and proves that haters are really just wankers, or wankstas if you will. Just because a rapper has… Continue

"There is something to be learned from a rain storm. When meeting with a sudden shower, you try not to get wet and run quickly along the road. By doing such things as passing under the eaves of houses, you still get wet. When you are resolved from the beginning, you will not be perplexed, though you will still get the same soaking. This understanding extends to al… Continue

D.I.T.C. - consisted of Big L, Lord Finesse, Showbiz, AG, Diamond D, Fat Joe and a few others. Their self-titled album was one of my favorites when it dropped in the late 90s. Scoop up Day One in the player.
I'll try to get my hands on the whole album at some point... Yep, it's fire.
Ben just dumped a year's worth of tracks on me. Major hook up = major drops in the coming weeks.

Big Effin' Up to my boy Ben!! Way to crush that shit kid! Here's a couple gems from his collection -
Check out my boy Dylan aka Double AB from the Rotten Apple. I just put Neva Change up in the music player. If you love nostalgic-storytelling tracks you'll feel this one. For more information check his MySpace.
